So here`s something everybody wants to know, which is the “Best” either the Empire Prophecy Z2 or the Dye Rotor.
So lets start with the newer Z2 Prophecy released by Empire, it is a re-vamp of its predecessor
It is currently: $169.95
Well firstly, here is the Z2`s full specification:
- No Tools needed for assembly and disassembly
- Infrared sensors provide automatic ball jam clearance
- Sound Activated force feeding
- Low profile and lightweight
- Redesigned drive carrier for consistent and faster feeding
- Integrated one-piece feed neck for durability
- Simple ON/OFF toggle switch
- Includes built-in Rip Drive System
- Push button Forward and Reverse buttons
- Capacity-approximately 200 paintballs
- Smallest force feed loader on the market
The Dye Rotor – currently $189.95
And here is the Rotor specification:
- Made From A Durable Nylon Material
- Dye Rotor Low Profile
- Spring Locking Lid
- Speed Feed Compatible
- Collapsible Spring Loaded Feed Tray
- See Through Vision Windows
- Dye Rotor Loader Jam Release Trigger
- On/Off Button With Bright Blue LED Display
- Runs off 3 x AA batteries – Incredibly long battery life
Verdict:
In all honesty, it is very hard to class either of these loaders as “Better” than one another. They will both feed paintballs at a very fast and reliable pace down into your marker with little effort. Both loaders are very gentle on paintballs, it is rare that you will break any paintballs inside the loaders. The Prophecy`s rebirth into the Z2 has essentially given it the specification facelift it needed to compete with the Rotor even more than it was before.
The only differences:
- The Rotor has a harder, more durable shell, the thing is virtually unbreakable, the Prophecy Z2`s shell is stronger than before, but still not quite on par with the Rotor yet
- The Prophecy Z2 gas a slimmer profile, the Rotor is slim at the front, but the whole unit noticeably bigger than the Z2
- The Prophecy Z2 has auto unjam, which is far better then the Rotor manual unjam fin
- The Rotor is much easier to disassemble
- Prophecy Z2 is CURRENTLY (as of today) only available in black, where as the Rotor is in tons of colors including the new tiger stripes and cloth patterns
Those are the only real differences between the two, decide what you are looking from a loader, but you won`t make a bad choice with either of these two. They are both top quality products, and both will feed balls as fast and consistent as you will need. If possible try them both out at an event and make the decision yourself as to which is for you!
